This is just intended to be a collection of some of
my favourite photos which I like enough to want to look at but not well
enough to want them as pictures on the wall.
I've started adding large versions here too - click on
the [gimme...] links to display in a new window, or just "save
image as..." to bypass this step.
Might be a bit slow to load - don't give up.

Polaroid of my Dad on the airport bus years ago. It's
sort of a cross between impressionist and - well, expressionist. It reminds me of a picture
so famous I can't remember either the title or the artist's name. You
probably know the one I mean, though.
Have some fun looking at the Fine Art section of
AllPosters to try to find the one I mean. [top]

This is my favourite of Mum, although this would probably
be more than 20 years ago. Her femininity and liveliness are evident (and still are). [top]

This is Martok.
Himself replacing the irreplacable Nefertiti (another
Abyssinian), Marty has proved himself a household compantion second
to none. I used to threaten my husband
that when I was on game shows (which I adore!) I would sing the "Martok
the Wonder Cat" song when they asked me for some sort of humorous
anecdote (which always terrifies me):
" 'Coz he's Marty, the Wonder Cat
Not too thin and not too fat
Got some stripes and just goes splat
Martok the Wonder Cat"
Understandably, the threat was very effective.

Nefertiti
who blessed me with her company for longer than any other cat I have heard
of.

Being a Capricorn with Taurus rising Wood-Snake makes
me very partial to a sense of place. My Pisces moon makes water an
integral part of my emotional relationship with landscape, and its
position, direction and absence always influences my mood.
Moments in all these places have made me pause to reflect
on why I live in Australia. Some remind me of the vistas of American
Arcadian painters while being at the same time unmistakeably Australian,
and you can have some fun applying painterly effects or colour inversions
in Photoshop.
There are little ones in the list here, and 1024*768
versions to download if you click the [gimme ...] links. Use them
as desktop pictures if you like, and you'll be virtually there.
